Lagos Govt Arrests Celebrant, Musician, Vendor for Blocking Ikoyi Road

Lagos State Government officials have arrested a birthday celebrant, musician, and vendor for obstructing traffic and causing an environmental nuisance

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, made this known on Monday via a post on his X handle.

Wahab revealed that the arrests occurred on Saturday, after the individuals blocked Raymond Njoku Road in Ikoyi during a birthday celebration.

He added that the suspects will face legal action as per the state’s laws, stressing that the government will not tolerate violations of its regulations.

In his post, Wahab wrote, “On Saturday, 19th October, 2024, the Lagos State Government arrested individuals, including the celebrant, event planner, musician, and others, for obstructing traffic and creating an environmental nuisance.”

He listed the arrested individuals as follows:

  1. Omolara Ajetumobi – Event Planner
  2. Ogundare Olubunmi – Celebrant
  3. Ayodele Busuyi – Musician
  4. Owoeye Adedayo – Sound Engineer
  5. Akinola Akinkunmi – Vendor

“The suspects were arrested for blocking Raymond Njoku Road in Southwest, Ikoyi during a birthday celebration. They will be tried in court in accordance with the laws of the State.

“The Lagos State Government reiterates that no one is above the law and will not be permitted to disregard State regulations.”
