Lagos Govt Condemns Attack on Shoprite

The Lagos State government has condemned yesterday’s attacks by some angry mob in the state on some South African business interests.

Recall that, in the last one week there are have been unabated xenophobic attacks in South Africa against the black foreigners in which Nigerian citizens there are mostly affected. As a result of this, some angry mob, yesterday embarked on reprisal, purposely targeted against some South African business interests in the state , especially Shoprites in Ajah and Apapa MTN’s office, to express their displeasures against the racial violence.

Due to this worrisome development, the government of Lagos State, through the ministry of Information and Strategy issued a release to condemn the attack.
