Eko Hot Blog reports that the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tunji Bello, made this known during the commemoration of the year 2022 Walk for Nature in Ikoyi, according to a statement on Saturday titled, “Walk for Nature: LASG to Restore Identified Environmental Degradation in the State”.
He said the walk was organised in conjunction with the Nigerian Conservation Foundation and held in Ikoyi, Obalende, and Ikeja simultaneously adding that the government was committed to actualising goal 11 to 17 of the Sustainable Development Goal and had formulated policies aimed at the conservation of biodiversity.
The commissioner, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Office of Environmental Services Dr Omobolaji Gaji, said the theme for this year, “Only One Earth,” was chosen to create more awareness of the importance of protecting nature and to remind all that there is only one habitable planet.
