The Lagos government has disbanded its team for the oversight of landed properties.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has directed the disbandment of the Special Operations Team under the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LABSCA).
EDITOR’S PICKS
The directive was disclosed in a statement issued by the state’s Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, on Saturday evening.
According to Omotosho, the decision was necessary after the government was “flooded with complaints over the untidy activities” of the LABSCA team, which is under the Ministry of Physical Planning.
The commissioner said it would be illegal to execute any action in the name of the disbanded team until a new one is reconstituted, adding that those who flout the directive will face “severe consequences.”
“After a careful examination of these complaints from well meaning Lagosians, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has directed that the team, led by Engineer Peter Omotosho, be disbanded immediately,” the statement reads.
“This is part of the steps the administration is taking towards repositioning the ministry and its agencies for better services to the public.
