After years of neglect, depriving it of crucial educational progress, plans are now underway to build primary and secondary school in Odo-Temu Community of Epe in Lagos state, Hon Wale Raji, Member House of Representatives, Epe Federal Constituency, has disclosed.

The intervention project is being embarked on by the Lawmaker in collaboration with the state government.

The development is coming on the heels of donation of Blocks of Classrooms for the construction of both Primary and Secondary school, a critical infrastructure which has eluded the community for donkey years.

Speaking during the announcement of the project on Friday 12th February, 2021, Raji told residents of Odo Temu that the project is for the benefit of all in the community.

He reemphasised that part of the essence of electing him is to make adequate provisions for what the people lack.

He therefore appreciated his massive supporters and revealed that the secondary school project has been included in the 2021 Constituency Projects.

He disclosed that the contractor was ready to commence work even without letter of award.

Speaking further, he stated that the construction of Block of 6 class rooms will also have furnitures and VIP toilets. The project, he promised, will be delivered after 2 months.

He advised the contractor to patronize locals who have business concerns in the building and construction chain.

Mrs Adefisayo, the Honourable Commissioner of Education, while also addressing the gathering, promised to do her best to support Temu community having being told that children from the fast growing community trek long distance to get to school.

At the gathering were Hon. Adedoyin Adesanya, Epe LG Chairman, Hon. Adeniyi Saliu, Eredo LCDA Chairman, and Hon. Shamsideen Onanuga, Agbowa-Ikosi chairman, Mr Kehinde, APC Chairman, Hon. Wale Raji Anomo, Mrs Stella Odufisan amongst others.

Speaking in an interview with Ekohotblog, the secretary of the CDA, Comrade Giwa Moshood Olashupo appreciated the Government for the provision of 6 Classrooms Blocks for the Primary school.

While stating his heartfelt appreciation towards Hon Wale Raji for the 6 Classroom Block Constituency Project, he restated the commitment of the community members to continue supporting the Lawmaker and the ruling party.

” We also want to appreciate the Lagos State Government for the provision of a block of 6 Classrooms in the community for the Primary school. Hon Wale Raji is also complementing that effort with another 6 Classroom Block. It is an immense gesture, it is a pleasure from all of us and generations yet unborn “, he stated.

Speaking further, Mr Giwa also discussed the impacts of the schools on the fast-growing community, the Secretary of the CDA, disclosed that children of the community will regain their confidence while also producing informed minds.

” When our children begin to enroll in this school, we will begin to have informed constituents in the society.

” Before now, some of our children lost hope in going to school because of the horrible experiences of going to far distances for learning” He said

“According to history, many who trekked far distances have met with various degrees of injuries. Some have died in the cause of trekking to farther distance schools. However, all of them will begin to be encouraged because they now have a school in their neighbourhood.

It is an incredible pleasure to finally have Government public schools here because an educated mind is an informed mind “, Giwa stated.

He therefore appreciated the Education Commissioner for exhibiting her motherly gestures towards the community and prayed that the administration of Babajide Sanwo-Olu will continue to wax stronger.
