Lagos Govt Set To Restore Kudirat Abiola Memorial Cenotaph (Photos)

  • Lagos Government has announced plans to restore Kudirat Abiola Memorial Cenotaph in the state.

EKOHOTBLOG reports that the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the restoration and preservation of the Kudirat Abiola Memorial Cenotaph, located along Mobolaji Johnson Way, beside 7-UP Plant in Oregun, Ikeja.

The Museum & Monuments Department of the State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture had earlier inspected the Cenotaph on September 1, 2021, to ascertain the level of work done so far.

It would be recalled that the monument was erected and commissioned in 2000 by the Lagos State Government.

EKOHOTBLOG reports that Kudirat Abiola, a democracy activist married to the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, was killed on June 4, 1996.
