The Lagos State Government has sealed Lekki Waterside and 11 other event centers, recreational outlets and clubs for allegedly running foul of COVID-19 guidelines.
Director-General of Lagos State Safety Commission, Lanre Mojola, announced the closure of the centres in a statement on Sunday.
Ekohotblog gathered that other centres affected by the closure are DNA Night Club, Buzz Bar, Silverfox, Cocoon, Westend Nightclub, Club Rumours, The Wave Beach club amongst others.

Mojola said the closure of the centres was reassurance of the government’s commitment to curtailing spread of the virus in communities.
According to the statement, Mojola warned that any of the affected outlets that broke the government seal and continues its operations would be prosecuted once documentation has been properly processed.

He noted that the state stand the risk of facing continued surge in cases if gatherings at restaurants, bars, cafes, and public places are done with flagrant disregard for important COVID-19 safety guidelines and health protocols.
He, therefore, implored the public to maintain and adhere to all necessary safety precautions during the holidays.
The safety boss maintained that Lagosians must take responsibility and urged all and sundry to co-operate with the government in its effort to effectively curtail the virus across the state.
The commission’s monitoring and enforcement team had earlier sealed Cubana Ikeja GRA, The Corner Lekki, 355 Restaurant and Night Club, Victoria Island amongst others were sealed.
