EKO HOT BLOG reports that this was disclosed by the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, on Friday, September 13. He explained that the repair process will be carried out in four phases, during which the bridge will be completely or partially closed, depending on the progress of the work.
Motorists are advised to use the following alternative routes during the repairs:
- Those traveling from Funsho Williams Avenue to the Island can use the service lane at Alaka to connect to Costain and access the Eko Bridge.
- Another option for motorists heading to the Island is to use Costain to link Eko Bridge and Apongbon to reach their destinations.
- Motorists can also connect Apongbon via Eko Bridge to link Costain and access Funsho Williams Avenue.
- Alternatively, drivers can go through Apapa Road from Costain, link Oyingbo, and connect to Adekunle to access the Third Mainland Bridge.
- Motorists heading to Surulere are advised to use Costain to connect Breweries, then proceed to Abebe Village and Eric Moore/Bode Thomas.
