Lagos Govt’s Financial Assistance: 545 Indigent Lagosians Benefit From Program

  • Tajudeen says the grants shows the State’s committment to support the vulnerable citizens.
  • He also said (MICHD) Programme is specially packaged for the Pregnant Indigent Mothers.
  • Tajudeen reiterated that the office acts as the link between grassroots communities and the government.

 

Eko Hot Blog reports that Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen, Special Adviser to the Governor, has disclosed that financial aid grants has been given to 545 indigent Lagosians through the state’s Financial Assistance Programme.

He said this on Monday while briefing Press men on the Social Intervention programme carried out by the Lagos State Government.

 

He stated that the laudable initiatives show the Lagos State Government’s unwavering commitment to supporting its most vulnerable citizens, adding that the government aims to alleviate the burden of financial constraints and provide essential relief that will contribute to an improved quality of life for the recipients and their families.

 

In his words: “Sanwo-Olu Cares, Sanwo-Olu Listens are part of the dividends of good governance that Mr. Governor promised Lagosians and he is ever ready to assent to the various requests. We have already received more letters for Financial Assistance and very soon, with the approval of Mr. Governor, it will be given out”.

Speaking on another Social intervention programme engaged in by the Office, the Special Adviser said that the Mother, Infant & Child Development (MICHD) Programme is specially packaged for the Pregnant Indigent Mothers that have been selected across various Local Government Areas (LGA) & Local Council Development Areas (LCDA) Public Health Centres (PHC).

 

He explained that these pregnant mothers are being monitored and provided with food items that contain the necessary nutrients that are needed for the proper development of Mother and Child, as well as the best health care services.

Speaking on other activities of the Office, Tajudeen said that the Office is responsible and responsive to the yearnings of the people at the grassroots communities and acts as the link between grassroots communities and the government, hence the development of the Citizens Gate 2.0 Platform which is a one-stop shop for engaging the Government.

 

He averred that the Office is also saddled with the responsibility of closing gaps between the Legislative and Executive Arms of the Government thereby creating synergy for the Greater Lagos Rising.
