Residents of the Badagry division in Lagos State have called on President Bola Tinubu to ensure that the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial ticket for the 2027 election is allocated to their region.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the indigenes argue that Badagry has long been sidelined in the selection of governors in the state, despite their consistent support for the Lagos political agenda.

Speaking on behalf of the community under the platform of the Concerned People of Badagry Forum, they emphasized their unwavering loyalty to the APC and President Tinubu, saying it is time for their division to be given the chance to produce the next governor.
Saka Shenayon, an APC chieftain and one of the forum’s leaders, said that the group is pushing for a Badagry candidate and is planning to meet with President Tinubu to formally present their case.
Shenayon said, “We will present a quality candidate, and we hope the leadership will grant our request.
In a joint statement signed by Saka Shenayon along with fellow Badagry indigenes Moses Ogunbiyi, Sejuro Samuel, Rofeequat Onabamiro, Kamoru Ajape, and Babatunde Olaide-Mesewaku, the people of Badagry emphasized the need for the governorship ticket to be zoned to their division.
