Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Head of Service (HOS), Mr. Bode Agoro, has assured Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWDs) in the State Public Service of the government’s support in making life better and more conducive for them.

Agoro made this assurance during a courtesy visit by members of the Association of Lagos State Civil Servants with Disabilities to his office at Alausa, Ikeja.
He maintained that since its inception, it has been the policy of the State Government to cater to the welfare and well-being of the entire workforce, stating that people with disabilities are not left out as they are regarded as special individuals.
“The State Government is doing all it can to ensure that there is preferential treatment for people with disabilities to be at par with other public servants,” Agoro said.
He reaffirmed that PLWDs will not be left out in areas such as staff training, welfare, and other incentives beneficial to public servants in the state.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Association, Mr. Lukman Salami, expressed appreciation to the Head of Service for his resilience in tackling all welfare-related issues of staff in the state. He stated that the Association remains grateful to the state for enacting the Lagos State Special Peoples Law 2010 and establishing the Lagos State Office of Disability Affairs (LASODA).

The visit was attended by government officials, including the Permanent Secretary of the Public Service Office, Mrs. ‘Sunkanmi Oyegbola, and her counterpart in the Civil Service Commission, Mr. Bode Obadina.
