In furtherance of the Nigerian Railway Modernisation Project (Lagos-Ibadan section), the Lagos State Government will temporarily close down Brewery Level Crossing/Gaskiya Road for construction works between Friday, February 15 and Thursday, February 20, 2020.
According to a release by the State Ministry of Transportation, the planned construction on the aforementioned routes would be done in two parts to ease traffic movement.
It stated that construction work on the first part of the affected route would be carried out over a three-day period, after which work would equally commence on the second part for the same duration.

It noted that commuters will be allowed to ply the open side of the road in order to ease vehicular movement during construction.
The statement advised motorists to comply with all traffic directions and road signals put in place to minimise the inconveniences that may be experienced while the construction works last.
“Similarly, Ogunmokun Railway Crossing will be closed to traffic on Saturday, 15th February 2020, from 8:00 pm to 12:00 pm on Sunday, 16th February 2020, for the installation of Level Crossing Rubber Panels by CCECC, the contractor handling the Project”, the statement said.
It implored motorists to use alternative routes during the construction exercise, noting that traffic through Ogunmokun axis will be diverted to Ilupeju Crossing for access to Mushin Road, Oshodi and Surulere, listing other alternative routes as Yaba Crossing and Jibowu.
Lagos State Government, therefore, appealed to residents, especially motorists that ply these corridors to cooperate with traffic officers during the planned closure.
