Lagos-Ibadan Rail Line: Commercial Operations Begins

  • The Lagos-Ibadan Rail line is set to commence commercial operations, the announcement was made by Federal Government.

EKOHOTBLOG recalls that the Federal Government promised to build the rail line to ease the day to day activities of the citizens.

According to the Special Assistant to President Buhari on Digital and New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi, He made the announcement on his official Twitter account on Monday.

Ogunlesi said the rail line has commenced operation “with only one trip return” for now.

According to him, formal commissioning of the railway will be held in the first quarter of 2020.

”For now, according to the NRC, only one return trip daily, leaving Ibadan at 8:00 am for Lagos and leaving Lagos for Ibadan at 4:00 pm.

“However, speed and capacity will increase with time because there’s still some construction work ongoing,” he said.
