ICYMI: Lagos Government Hands Over Ikorodu Sub-Region Master Plan to Stakeholders

Eko Hot Blog reports that, in a significant move towards urban development, the Lagos State Government has officially handed over the Ikorodu Sub-Region Master Plan (2016-2036) to stakeholders.
The momentous occasion took place at the Ikorodu Town Hall, where the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Oluyinka Olumide, addressed the audience.

During his speech, Dr. Olumide expressed gratitude to the leaders and residents of the Ikorodu Division for their unwavering support in making the planning document a reality.
He emphasized the pivotal role of proper planning in fostering sustainable growth and development, aligning with Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s vision for a well-organized Lagos.
“Lagos State is a pacesetter across Nigeria, and it is part of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s vision for people to build and live based on proper planning,” stated Dr. Olumide.
The Ikorodu Sub-Region Master Plan, spanning from 2016 to 2036, is poised to guide the infrastructural and socio-economic development of the area.

It encompasses various aspects of urban planning, including land use, transportation, housing, and environmental conservation.
Stakeholders, including community leaders, urban planners, and residents, welcomed the initiative, expressing optimism about its potential to transform Ikorodu into a more livable and vibrant hub within Lagos State.
The handover ceremony marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of life for residents and promote sustainable urbanization in Lagos State.
With the implementation of the master plan, authorities aim to create a conducive environment for economic activities, improve infrastructure, and enhance the overall well-being of the populace.
