Lagos Launches Online Payment, Registration For 2023 BECE, Placement Test

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Government has introduced Online Payment and Registration for the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and Placement Test by Continuous Assessment Scores (CAS).

The government made the disclosure in a statement issued by the Director, Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu, on Tuesday.

Addressing the general public, particularly private schools and schools with special permissions, Orunsolu stated that the online payment and registration is in line with the state government policy of ensuring seamless and stress-free payment and access to services in the State.

The examinations board boss hinted that the process will be available through a self-service platform, adding that school owners would not be required to come physically to the Examination Board for either payment or registration.

He stressed further that the process would afford every school to create Login Account to generate their unique Identity Number (ID) and Personalised Identification Number (PIN) via: https://examsboard.lagosstate.gov.ng

Orunsolu urged the schools to adhere strictly to the guidelines and procedures for payment and registration as stated on the portal.

According to him, the registration has already commenced and late registration would attract an additional penalty after the expiration date.

The director also stressed that only Primary 6 (Six) Pupils of both Public and Private Schools are eligible for the Placement Test, adding that only duly registered JSS3 students would be allowed to sit for BECE.

While noting that the Online Payment and Registration for the examinations is to ensure a hitch-free process, Orunsolu advised that Schools with Special Candidates such as those with visual challenges, albinism and others should inform the Lagos State Examinations Board in a separate letter to facilitate adequate preparations for their candidates during the examination.

He added that the circulars containing details information about the mode of Payment and Registration for the two Examinations would be available to schools through their Led/Zonal Officers.
