The Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon Omolola Essien confirmed the sad incident in a tribute to the former Majority Leader on her Facebook page on Sunday
Hon Essien said, “Salawa as I fondly call you, the news of your death came like a dream in the night and I was hoping to wake to the reality that you are alive but no! You are no more and not with us.
“As the majority leader in the last dispensation and Council leader this time around, you’ve lived a happy and impactful life and I have seen, read and heard so many testimonies in support of these facts.
“You made your mark as a beautiful wife to your husband, a wonderful mother to your children, a friendly grandmother to your grandchildren and a trustworthy person to your political associates.
“Oh, death where is thine sting?” You were also a very committed member of the councillor’s forum, you were an occupant of a substantive position in the Lagos state chapter. The list is endless and we’re all going to miss you.
“You were such a sweet soul, jovial, kind, caring and loving mother to all you met while on earth. Now you are gone and gone for good. We have no power to recall you but we believe your death is a lesson that, there is no eternal life on earth but that we must all work to attain it after death, knowing fully that we all must go one day.
“May The Good Lord forgive your shortcomings and grant your eternal rest in paradise. We love you but God Almighty loves you,” the council boss prayed.
Hon Toyin Bamigboye is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren.
