ICYMI: Lagos Meets All Criteria For World Bank Business Reforms Programme – Commissioner
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade & Investment, Ms. Folashade Ambrose-Medebem, says the state has met all criteria to qualify for the first phase of the World Bank-funded State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) programme on the Ease of Doing Business.
Ms. Ambrose-Medebem made the revelation recently at the Ministerial Press Briefing to mark the first year of the second term of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration.

In a statement on social media, the state government said the qualification for the business reforms programme confirmed the state’s “premium status as a preferred investment destination”
“Lagos State Government has, again, confirmed its premium status as a preferred investment destination by meeting all criteria to qualify for the first phase of the World Bank funded State Action on Business Enabling Reforms (SABER) programme on the Ease of Doing Business,” the statement reads.
It also disclosed that Lagos was adjudged and emerged successful on Four Disbursement Linked Indicators (DLIs) covering Improved land administration and land-based investment process (DLI1); Improved investment promotion environment (DLI2); Increased transparency of official fees and procedures (DLI3); and Increase transparency of fees and levies for inter-state trade (DLI4).

According to the Commerce Commissioner, Lagos also completed successfully the reforms for additional stage comprising Eight DLIs for the first year cycle of the SABER programme.
