Lagos Monarch, Alara Of Ilara, Felicitates With Sultan At 65

Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, has felicitated with the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, on the occasion of his 65th birth anniversary.

Alara, in a congratulatory message on Tuesday, described the Sultan as an exceptionally rare gem and an amiable personality who is “unputdownable.”

Oba Ogunsanwo, an erstwhile Chairman of Lagos State Board of Internal Revenue Service before ascending the throne in August 2020, espoused all the encomiums and adulations showered on the first class monarch on the occasion of his 65th birthday, describing them as a fitting representation of a revered leader.

“His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar is a wonderful traditional leader and very highly detribalized religious figure,” the Lagos monarch said.

Oba Ogunsanwo, who observed that the Sultan does not customarily celebrate his birthday, noted that that it is nonetheless germane to celebrate the spiritual leader of the entirety of Nigeria’s Muslim faithful on this particularly significant day.

“On behalf of myself and kingdom, I wish to say that the Sultan is enigmatic and pragmatic person, who has contributed to peace, unity, and development of Nigeria.”

“We appreciate the Sultan, who is Chairman, National Traditional Rulers Council of Nigeria (NTRCN) and Co-Moderator of the Council of Religions for Peace (CRP), globally, on his day as he clocks 65 this 24 August 2021. It is his day as chosen by the Lord and we leverage it as an opportunity to show our gratitude to the great leader.”

Oba Ogunsanwo, whose one year coronation anniversary drew curtains with a glamourous ceremony held at his magnificent edifice in Ilara on Sunday, August 22, 2021 has been an advocate of leveraging on the enduring influence and clout of traditional institutions to engender socio-economic and socio-political change for the gratification of the general populace.
