Lagos Must Make Technology Indispensable In Education -Hamzat

The Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Kadiri Obafemi hamzat has called Lagosians to embrace technology. He specifically directed the call to the Lagos state teachers while speaking as the guest of honor at webinar training series 3.1. This seminar was organized by the teaching service commission (TESCOM).

The Deputy Governor said that As food and breathe is a priority to human, so is technology to education and education should be cherished among students and only the teachers With the help of webinar online series can make that happen.

Dr Hamzat in a statement stressed that
Technology is a gift of God. After the gift of life, it is perhaps the greatest of God’s gifts. It is the mother of civilizations, of arts and of sciences. Technology has certainly changed the way we live. It has impacted different facets of life and redefined living. Undoubtedly, technology plays an important role in every sphere of life. Several manual tasks can be automated, thanks to technology.

Also, many complex and critical processes can be carried out with ease and efficiency with the help of modern technology. Thanks to the application of technology, living has changed and it has changed for better. Technology has revolutionized the field of education.

The importance of technology in schools cannot be ignored. In fact, with the onset of computers in education, it has become easier for teachers to impart knowledge and for students to acquire it. The use of technology has made the process of teaching and learning all the more enjoyable, he noted.

The Deputy governor furthermore said that technology education should be maintained and teachers should at all cost be zealous to learn, and value education because it is a powerful tool that everyone needs including students in the school.

Mrs folashade Adefisayo, the commissioner of education also said that webinar is not just an initiative for teachers alone, it’s is a tool to changing the course of humanity through technology-based education, it will help build the best education first children in Lagos state. This will help keep all teachers in shape and train them through the online programme before resuming to activities after COVID-19, she added.
