Lagos Police Declare ‘Killaboi’ Wanted After Confessing To Killing Girlfriend

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Police Command has declared a self-described Blockchain Developer, Benjamin Best Nnanyereugo, better known as Killaboi, wanted.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday.

Nnanyereugo, using the curious pseudonym ‘Killaboi, had taken to Instagram some months ago to admit to killing his girlfriend, Augusta Onuwabhagbe Osedion, better known as Austa, on July 13, 2023.

He, however, did not say the circumstances that led to the suspected murder.

Despite stating his intention to report himself to the police days after the incident, the suspected killer went into hiding and has remained a fugitive.

The 26-year-old’s confession led to months of petitions and pleas to the police to arrest the suspected murderer.

Nearly three months after Austa’s death, the police said they were declaring Nnanyereugo wanted because they had exhausted all available options to bring him in.

“Nnanyereugo is suspected to have murdered his girlfriend, 21-year-old Augusta Onuwabhagbe Osedion, on July 13, 2023 in his Oral Estate, Ajah home. Following the exhaustion of all available options to bring him in, he is declared wanted,” the statement reads.

“The suspect is 26 years old, approximately 5’9 ft tall and hails from Abia State. He is dark in complexion and speaks English, Igbo and pidgin English fluently.

“If seen, please contact the nearest police station or call 0803 688 5727.”

In July, Hundeyin said the DPO of Ajah police station led detectives to the murder scene after the victim’s mother, Onwabhagbe Cordelia Nneji, reported her daughter missing following a fight with her boyfriend, Nnanyereugo.

The police found the lifeless body of Austa at the scene with some of her private parts reportedly missing.

Hundeyin said detectives found marks of violence and signs of struggle on the victim’s body, which was starting to decompose.

Austa’s remains were deposited at the Mortuary of the General Hospital, Yaba, for autopsy and preservation.

The police spokesperson also revealed that the suspected killer left a note at the scene but did not disclose the content.
