According to Hundeyin, the suspects were arrested by officers attached to Iba Division.
The photos attached to the police spokesperson’s post show that the suspects were arrested with short axes.
Hundeyin, who was baffled by the involvement of teenagers in cultism, did not name the suspects.
“These teenagers were arrested with weapons on them by @LagosPoliceNG Iba Division for engaging in cultism,” he wrote on Twitter.
“When I was a teenager, I didn’t want to kill neither did I want to die.
“Someone explain to me like a two-year-old why our teens are attracted to cultism.”
The suspects risk 21 years in jail. The Lagos Prohibition of Unlawful Societies and Cultism Act of 2021 stipulates 21 years imprisonment for anyone found to be a member of a cult group or solicits for members of an unlawful society.

“This punishment also affects anyone who is found to attend meetings of a cult group of illegal society. Meanwhile, the jail term further awaits any person who carries out an illegal act that may result in breach of peace or threat to life and property,” part of the law reads.
