EKOHOTBLOG reports that the Lagos State Police Command has said that the officer, who allegedly shot an 18-year-old girl, Monsurat Ojuade, has been identified.
Recall that Monsurat was last Saturday hit by a bullet when detectives from the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, went to arrest a robbery suspect in Ijesha.
She died within a short period as a result of the gunshot, throwing the entire neighbourhood into mourning.
However, the Lagos State Police Command, while reacting to the incident via a statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu, on Sunday night, stated that the operative who pulled the trigger has been identified and is being detained.

Ajisebutu, who failed to mention the name and rank of the killer officer, said the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has directed that the officer be tried and charged to court after dismissal.
“This, it is believed, will serve as a deterrent to others who do not act professionally in the course of their duties,” the police spokesperson stated.
