The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, has announced partial road closures for the first edition of the 10-kilometer Capital City Race, scheduled to take place tomorrow, Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Osiyemi disclosed the affected routes, which include Shoprite Alausa Ikeja, inwards Billings Way to Kudirat Abiola Way, Opebi Link Bridge, Opebi Glo Tower inwards Allen Avenue, Allen Junction, GTBank on Adeniyi Jones, AP Filling Station on Oba Akran Avenue, and Samsung Authorized Service Centre to the Police College Sports Secretariat/Gym.

The Commissioner explained that these routes would be partially closed to vehicular traffic, with barriers set up and managed by traffic and security agencies, including the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Nigeria Police Force (NPF), and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

“All junctions and intersections from Shoprite Alausa Ikeja to the destination (Police College Sports Secretariat/Gym) will be blocked to prevent road users from accessing the main race corridor,” Osiyemi stated.

He urged motorists to exercise patience as the closures are temporary and the blocked junctions will be intermittently reopened to allow other road users to pass as the race progresses.
