Eko Hot Blog reports that in a shocking development, Lagos State has been rocked by another gas explosion, this time at a gas retail store in the Ibeju-Lekki area.
Tragically, two lives were lost in the incident, while three individuals sustained injuries, according to police spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin.
Furthermore, the blast razed approximately four shops in the vicinity, leaving behind a trail of destruction.
“It is just a week and we have recorded another gas explosion at a gas retail shop, this time in Ibeju-Lekki,” Hundeyin lamented.
Emphasizing the need for utmost caution, he added, “Sadly, two persons died, three persons sustained injuries and four shops got razed. Let us prevent avoidable deaths. Let us be safety-conscious at all times.”
This latest incident comes just a week after a gas explosion in the Ajegunle-Apapa area of Lagos injured a pregnant woman and eight others.
The previous explosion, caused by a gas leakage igniting a high-tension cable, also damaged various properties in the area known for gas cylinder trading activities.
