The Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folashade Adefisayo has disclosed that the Ministry was adopting a phased approach to the reopening of schools in Lagos State in order to enable them meet the COVID-19 physical distance rules and safety protocols.
She stated that the present set of JSS3 students and SS2 students in public schools in the state were to resume classes from Monday 21 September, 2020 so as to allow JSS3 Students who already in an exit class to revise and prepare adequately for their forthcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) organized by the Lagos State Examination Board and scheduled between Tuesday 6 and Monday 12 October, 2020.

Mrs Adefisayo further congratulated SS 3 students who successfully completed their West Africa Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) urging them to stay safe even as they await their results.
It could be recalled that the Lagos State Government on Sunday 13 September, 2020 made a u-turn when it ordered reopening of schools that would see Primary schools not reopening on 21 September, 2020 along with the secondary schools.
