The Lagos state government has sealed off 42 buildings in Lekki area of the state over fear of destruction.
The spokesman of the Lagos state ministry of physical planning and urban development, Mukaila Sanusi, on behalf of Idris Salako, the commissioner, said some of the buildings do not have a permit.

“This explains why we must stop those who are bent on jeopardizing the operative development plans of Lagos state by not tolerating any form of illegal physical development,” he said.
Salako noted that the operation started on Tuesday in Lekki Phase1 after 19 buildings were sealed off, making a total of 42 buildings shut as of Thursday.
Meanwhile, the commissioner has asked affected property owners to report to his office for documentation.
