Lagos Seeks Investment Opportunities In Health, Other Sectors At Fidelity Bank’s FITCC Trade Expo

Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Government was recently at the Fidelity International Trade and Creative Connect (FITCC) Expo to make a case for investment opportunities in health and other sectors.

FITCC serves as a platform for collaborations and partnerships amongst global businesses in the non-oil export sector, with the aim of building foundational structures for emerging shifts in trade and building global supply-chain networks.

The expo, which was organised by Fidelity Bank, held between Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th October, 2023 at the George R. Brown Convention Center, Houston, Texas in the United States (US).

The Lagos government delegation, which was led the Secretary to State Government, Barister Abimbola Salau-Hundeyin, included the Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, the Commissioner for Commerce, Fola Ambrose, and the Lagos Building Investment Company (LBIC) MD/CEO, Mr Oluwatobiloba Lawal.

Speaking at the event, Abayomi highlighted the investment opportunities in Lagos health sector, stressing that the state government hopes to leverage a Public-Private partnership strategy to improve provision of qualitative & efficient health service delivery to residents.

He noted that opportunities abound in the production, training, and capacity building for human resources for health; health service delivery regulation; health financing and health insurance, as well as specialist health service provision.

While highlighting population, improved health infrastructure, good governance structure, and health regulations as some of the State’s health sector prospect for growth, the commissioner declared that Lagos is open and ready for foreign direct investment that offers a win-win situation for the state government, residents of Lagos and investors.
