The Lagos State Planning and Environmental Monitoring Authority (LASPEMA) has on Thursday served contravention notices to some informal business owners in the state.
LASPEMA, in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday, said the move reiterated the present administration’s zero tolerance for all environmental infractions across the state.
The agency noted that the monitoring team served the violators the notices during a monitoring exercise embarked upon by the team to curb the incessant environmental infraction after receiving complaints from residents.

“The agency had served the contravention notices to the business owners after residents drew the attention of government to the unscrupulous business activities of gravel sellers and wheelbarrow pushers on the roads.
“This has adversely affected the free flow of vehicular movement on Olayinka Bamgbose Street and Unity Road in Ikeja,” the statement said.
Recall that the State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako, had warned that it would no longer be business as usual for those who violate the Physical Planning Laws of the state.
