Lagos Set To Celebrate World Theatre Day With Grand Performances
Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, in collaboration with the Lagos State Council for Arts and Culture, is gearing up to join the global community in celebrating 2024 World Theatre Day.
The grand event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 27, at Alliance Francaise, Victoria Island, commencing at 3 pm.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, he emphasized that World Theatre Day is an occasion to celebrate the rich fabric of theatrical arts that enriches the cultural landscape.
“World Theatre Day is an occasion to celebrate the rich fabric of theatrical arts that enrich our cultural landscape,” said Aregbe.
The Ministry plans to make this year’s celebration a memorable one, featuring a lineup of captivating performances from renowned theatre groups. Among the groups slated to perform are Crown group, Footprints of David Kings and Queen Wura, and the Lagos State Council of Art’s Troupe, among many others.
In addition to these captivating performances, the event is expected to be graced by esteemed veterans of the theatre world, including the legendary Joke Silva, esteemed Professor Oni, members of the diplomatic community, and top entertainers, among other distinguished personalities.
“This year’s World Theatre Day celebration promises to be an unforgettable experience showcasing the diversity and dynamism of Nigeria’s vibrant theatrical community. As such, we invite theatre enthusiasts and culture aficionados alike to join us in honoring the transformative power of the performing arts,” Aregbe stated.
The Special Adviser assured attendees that they should look forward to an afternoon filled with mesmerizing performances, thought-provoking discussions, and ample opportunities to network with like-minded individuals in the theatre world.
