Lagos sets sight on 30-year Development Plan
- Lagos aiming further on setting development agenda for the state
- Plan will be centred on youths
- Commissioner believes goals are attainable
Lagos State is on course to present a 30-year development blueprint.
This was made known by the Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, Samuel Egube.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that the development plan will be focused on providing opportunities for the youths of the state.
Egube however urged the youngsters to share, contribute and participate in the already-existing and various developmental programmes, policies and projects of the state government because they are beneficiaries.
Egube stated that the new developmental plan will replace the existing plan which has served since 2012 and will end in 2025. He says the new plan is aimed at strategically positioning Lagos as the economic and social hub of Africa in the coming years.
Egube placed emphasis on the need to ensure that Lagos is seen as a clean, safe and secured city that will not just harness business growth but a place where every human being will desire to live, engage in businesses and thrive.
The Commissioner believes that the vision and goals of the plan are attainable because according to him, the present government of Babajide Sanwo-Olu has continued to implement the policies and programmes outlined in the T.H.E.M.E.S. Agenda, such as the recently commissioned Agege Pen-Cinema Flyover and the various ongoing projects like the new Massey Children Hospital, the Red and Blue Rail lines among others.
Egube asked youths to stay away from acts of vandalism, thuggery and cultism because doing that will derail those development plans.
