EKO HOT BLOG reports that Bashir Olawale Fakorede, a renowned Lagos socialite and oil magnate, recently hosted a lavish wedding ceremony in London for his daughter, Moyosore Fakorede. The event was attended by the crème de la crème of Lagos and London’s social scene.
Moyosore Fakorede tied the knot with Olabanji Kalejaiye in a classy white wedding ceremony held at the Fairmont Windsor Park along Bishopsgate Rd, Windsor, Egham, United Kingdom. The couple had earlier had their introduction and traditional engagement in January at the bride’s father’s mansion in Banana Island, Lagos.
The London ceremony, held on Sunday, April 16, was the second leg of the wedding celebrations and was marked by glitz, glamour, and style. Notable socialites and friends of the Fakoredes turned up in their finest to celebrate with the couple and their proud parents.
Bashir Fakorede, who is the Aare Bobajoko of Ikate Kingdom, is known for his easygoing nature and love for life and humanity. He believes that living one’s best life is about giving the best to humanity, a belief that has endeared him to many.
The London party was a testament to Fakorede’s status as a lover of life and hospitality. The event featured top-notch entertainment and hospitality, typical of a perfect Lagos Owambe in London. Guests were all glammed up in the beautiful Aso Ebi chosen for the reception party.
On the bandstand were Fuji music Czar, K1 De Ultimate, and Laolu Gbenjo. Tasty African Restaurant, a leading London food chain, catered for the sumptuous meals served at the event.
Family sources revealed that the final leg of the intercontinental wedding would be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, in May.
The Fakorede family spared no expense in ensuring that their daughter’s wedding was a memorable one, and judging by the massive turnout and the exquisite hospitality, they succeeded beyond expectations.
