The Lagos State Government has announced plans to convene a stakeholders’ summit aimed at tackling the challenges of physical planning in the state.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a statement issued on Saturday, Mukaila Sanusi, Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the Ministry of Urban and Physical Planning, stated that the summit will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to engage with the government on sustainable planning and development initiatives.

“The Lagos State Government is set to organize a landmark physical planning summit to explore the challenges and opportunities as the state progresses toward becoming a smart megacity,” Sanusi said.

Scheduled for October 15 and 16 in Lagos, the summit is designed to address critical issues and offer a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas on improving the physical planning landscape in Lagos.

The summit, themed “Lagos, Africa’s Model Mega City: Issues and Prospects,” aims to offer solutions for effective governance and policy frameworks in physical planning.

Key topics to be discussed include the impact of urbanization on physical planning, innovative approaches to urban design, stakeholder engagement in development plans, sustainable development strategies for a resilient Lagos, and effective governance and policy frameworks.
