Lagos Stands Still As Garbadeen & Oladehinde Families Give Out Their Children’s Hands In Marriage

Eko Hot Blog reports that Saturday, September 16, 2023, was a proud day for the Garbadeen and Oladehinde families as they gave out the hands of their son and daughter in marriage.

The joyous celebration of love and unity took place between Oluwafeyikunola Zainab and Oluwafemi Emmanuel.

The couple were joined in matrimony at the prestigious Balmoral Hall in Sheraton, Ikeja, Lagos State, on a day marked by traditional rituals and the warmth of dignified guests hailing from Epe, Lagos, and various other regions.

The festivities commenced with the traditional marriage ceremony, which saw the arrival of the groom and his companions, all eager to seek the hand of Zainab in the age-old customary manner.

Afterwards, the bride and her friends made a grand entrance, and blessings were bestowed upon them through heartfelt prayers, overseen by the Alaga Iduro.

Next came the Muslim wedding, known as the Walimat Nikkah, where Imam Ismail Akorede offered guidance and advice to the newlyweds.

His words of wisdom encouraged them to seek the counsel of trusted individuals when faced with challenges, rather than keep their troubles bottled up. The assembly of Alfas present at the event offered their heartfelt prayers for the couple’s prosperous journey together.

The celebratory mood continued as guests transitioned to the reception. The wedding ceremony of Zainab and Emmanuel was a truly regal affair, graced by the esteemed presence of not only the couple’s loving parents but also revered royal figures, distinguished chiefs, and notable individuals from in and around Lagos.

 

Their union served as a testament to the convergence of tradition, culture, and unity, with royal fathers and chiefs offering their blessings and support for a harmonious journey of love.

The gathering was adorned with the grace and wisdom of these dignitaries, adding an aura of significance and grandeur to an already unforgettable occasion.

Veteran comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka the First, the master of ceremonies, brought vibrant energy to the gathering, complemented by the melodious tunes of a live band. Amidst the enchanting ambiance, the parents of the bride and groom showcased their dancing prowess, delighting everyone present.

Before the much-anticipated moment of cutting the wedding cake, the Chairman of the wedding, Alhaji Abdul Wasiu Abiola Anifowoshe, graced the occasion with a heartfelt and brief speech that resonated deeply with the gathered guests.

With wisdom and warmth, he spoke of the significance of this union, emphasising the values of love, unity, and family bonds that the couple embodied.
