Eko Hot Blog reports that, in line with the directive of Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Enforcement Team of the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, along with the Special Intervention Squad on the Restoration of the Lagos Badagry Rail Corridor Clean-Up, led by ACP Bayo Sulaiman, initiated enforcement actions to dislodge illegal squatters under the Ijora Causeway Bridge.
The operation commenced after the expiration of a 5-day quit notice issued by the Lagos State Government last Sunday.
The cleanup operation, aimed at restoring order and ensuring the safety of public spaces, began with the eviction of squatters who had been residing under the Ijora Causeway Bridge.
The Enforcement Team worked diligently to clear the area, implementing the directive given by Governor Sanwo-Olu to reclaim public spaces and maintain the cleanliness of the city.
In a statement on Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources Tokunbo Wahab’s Facebook page, it was emphasized that the cleanup operation is a crucial step in ensuring the restoration of the Lagos Badagry Rail Corridor and enhancing the overall environmental aesthetics of the area.
The commissioner’s Facebook post highlighted the commitment of the Lagos State Government to creating a conducive and safe environment for all residents.
