EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Lagos State Government has newly acquired two high-speed trains, which will be used to move passengers from Agbado to Oyingbo on the Red Line Metro project, that will be completed by the end of this year.
This was contained in a tweet by the governor of the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

“Today, I inspected our newly acquired Talgo 330kmph speed trains for our Red Line Metro project in Lagos. The 37km Red Line on completion will traverse eight stations and move passengers from Agbado to Oyingbo. We have completed the acquisition of the two high-speed trains and we are ramping up the completion of the ancillary infrastructure like the train stations. We are irrevocably committed to completing the Red Line rail project by the end of this year and bringing a new lease of life to public transportation in Lagos.”
In other news, EKO HOT BLOG informs that the deputy governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, is set to add to his huge sports resume on February 12, 2022, as he is set to run side by side with the Lagos state governor, at the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.
Shaibu said he has been a distance admirer of the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon.
“I congratulate the good people of Lagos State, especially the Executive Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for putting together the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, the biggest one-day sports event in Africa and one of the top ten marathons in the world in terms of prize money and participants.
“Having participated in the highly competitive Okpekpe 10km Road Race on a tough terrain because it is hilly, it will be a great joy to experience the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon alongside my brother Governor Sanwo-Olu. It will be fun to run in Lagos because the course is flat.” He said.
