  • The Lagos State governor has reacted to the sad news that trailed the news platform this morning in Lagos State regarding a train collision with a staff bus close to Shogunle.

  • It left scores of passengers dead and injured as the bus was reported to be conveying staffers to work prior to the accident.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reacted to the tragic news that came on Thursday of a train collision on a BRT Staff Bus.

The tragic train-bus collision has left members of staff of the Lagos state government dead and injured. The incident occurred on Monday morning around PWD, close to Shogunle. The bus was reportedly conveying staff of the Lagos state government when it collided with a moving train.

The Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has expressed sadness over the unfortunate incident and commiserated with the families of the victims. In a tweet, he extended his prayers to the families of those who lost their lives and thanked Lagosians who immediately joined in the rescue efforts before emergency services arrived at the scene.

“I am deeply saddened by the news of the train/bus accident. The vehicle was conveying staff of the Lagos state government, our staff who serve the state in different capacities,” Sanwo-Olu said.

He added: “Let’s say a prayer for the families and a prayer of mercy and protection for our state. My thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.”

The identities of the victims and the exact number of casualties are yet to be confirmed. However, eyewitnesses report that several people were injured in the accident.

Emergency services have been deployed to the scene of the accident, and the governor has assured Lagosians that more information will be shared shortly.

The incident has sparked outrage and calls for improved safety measures in the state. Lagos is known for its heavy traffic and frequent accidents, and this latest incident has once again highlighted the need for urgent action to ensure the safety of commuters in the state.
