EKO HOT BLOG reports that Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has visited the site of the seven-storey building collapse at Banana Island, Lagos, for an on-the-spot assessment of the situation.
The building collapsed on Wednesday, April 12, while casting was being done on the structure, according to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). The government has alleged that the collapsed building was unapproved.
The governor led a delegation, including the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tayo Bamigbose-Martin, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, General Manager, Lagos State Building Control Agency, LABSCA, and other engineers, to inspect the collapsed structure located at First Avenue, Banana Island on Saturday, April 22.
The visit was aimed at assessing the extent of the damage and ascertaining the cause of the collapse.
