Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, today commissioned the new Armoured Shield Isolation Center at Victoria Island powered by Reddington Hospital in a bid to support the fight against the second wave of Covid-19.
The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Prof . Akin Abayomi, who uncovered this on his Twitter handle that “The purpose built isolation and treatment center is equipped to provide all levels of Covid-19 care from isolation to level 3 ICU care. That The medical facility will be managed by a multi-disciplinary panel of specialist to provide services which includes:

“PCR Testing, Telemedicine services, A one-stop comprehensive care of all cases of COVID-19 infection from mild to severe including complications. Isolation and hospitality services for mild cases. High dependency care for moderate cases.
As gathered by Eko Hot Blog, the essence is to provide Level 3 intensive care for severe cases. Deployment of technology such as organ life support machine, CT Scan, X-Ray, laboratory ICU equipment, ambulance etc. for the care of patients.
“24/7 critical care services to all Covid-19 positive patients for a period of 12 months. Provide the medical consumables, PPE, hotel accommodation for healthcare personnel etc.”
The fight against Covid-19 pandemic is a collective responsibility. While the governor is busy exploring different avenues to ensure a Covid-19 free State, we must also abide by all the safety protocols outlined by the government and NCDC.
