Lagos State Launches Industry Insider Series to Empower Youths
- The program aimed at equipping out-of-school youths and young people

The Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, in partnership with GIZ Sky, has unveiled the Industry Insider Series, a program aimed at equipping out-of-school youths and young people with technology training, job counseling, and knowledge-sharing.
Eko Hot Blog reports that this initiative seeks to promote digital inclusion, job readiness, and exposure to the tech ecosystem, with weekly sessions held at the Eko Job Centre in Ikorodu.

Olayinka Adebayo Wasiu, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, highlighted the program’s focus on bridging the gap between youths’ skills and industry demands.
He emphasized the Lagos State Government’s commitment to providing training for all youths, particularly those without access to education or employment opportunities.
Wasiu further noted the ministry’s efforts to secure job placements for trainees upon completion of the program, leveraging initiatives like job internship placement training.
Permanent Secretary Olayinka Adebayo Wasiu urged young people to make the most of the Industry Insider Series, emphasizing the importance of acquiring tech skills in today’s job market.
He expressed gratitude to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for supporting the initiative and his commitment to empowering the youth of Lagos State.
Program facilitator Sunkanmi Olanrewaju echoed the importance of the initiative, stating that it aims to broaden participants’ understanding of technology and the various opportunities available within the sector.
He emphasized that anyone can transition into tech, regardless of their previous experience, Olanrewaju highlighted the program’s goal of equipping participants with the necessary skills to further their journey in the tech industry.
Adebola Adetiloye, a participant in the skill acquisition program organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, expressed excitement and appreciation for the initiative.
