Lagos State Releases Traffic Management Plan for Marine Bridge Maintenance Works

  • Phase 1 of the maintenance works will focus on the area from the foot of Marine Bridge

  • The Marine Bridge is scheduled to fully reopen to traffic on Monday, June 9, 2025

In anticipation of scheduled maintenance works on Marine Bridge by the Federal Ministry of Works, the Lagos State Government has announced a traffic management plan set to commence on Sunday, May 18, and conclude on Sunday, June 8, 2025.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the plan aims to minimize disruptions during the maintenance period, which will be carried out in two phases.

Phase 1 of the maintenance works will focus on the area from the foot of Marine Bridge (Lawani Oguntayo Road inbound Apapa/Costain), while Phase 2 will cover Ijora Badia and Lilypond Access Ramp inbound Apapa.

To ensure smooth traffic flow, motorists are advised to follow these alternative routes:

Phase 1

Motorists inbound Apapa from Ijora Oloopa are advised to use the Ijora Causeway access ramp by Omni Retail Company.

Phase 2

Motorists inbound Apapa from Costain will be diverted into a contraflow lane inbound Costain.

Lagos State Releases Traffic Management Plan for Marine Bridge Maintenance Works

From June 2 to June 8, 2025, motorists from Ijora Olopa heading to Apapa will be diverted through the Ijora Causeway access ramp by Omni Retail Company into Lilypond Access Road.

The Marine Bridge is scheduled to fully reopen to traffic on Monday, June 9, 2025.

Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi,  assured residents that the Ministry, in collaboration with the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, will closely monitor and manage vehicular movement along the affected routes to minimize inconvenience.
