Lagos State Security Trust Fund Appeals For Donation

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund has made a renewed appeal to business owners and individuals to continue to donate both cash and kind in order to improve the State’s security architecture.

The Executive Secretary of LSSTF Mr. Razaq Balogun made the appeal on Friday at a Press Briefing ahead of the inaugural security summit under the present administration scheduled to hold on the 3rd of December, 2019.

Balogun who noted that there was a setback in the donation received by LSSTF between Aug ’18 & Aug ’19, disclosed that the intervention of Governor Babjide Sanwo-Olu attracted donation to the LSSTF in excess of 1.5billion naira in the 3 months.

He said; “The body language of Mr. Governor shows that he is deeply concerned about security issues.

Apart from having Security and Governance as one of the pillars of his administration, the Governor was one of the founders of the LSSTF some years ago as the Commissioner for Establishments.

He maintained that though the office had received donations into several billions since the inception, the donations was still grossly inadequate and not commensurate to the huge investment in the State.

Speaking on the essence of the Town Hall meeting, the Executive Secretary said that the meeting would provide a platform for LSSTF to render account of stewardship for the year in review.

He appealed to corporate organizations, and the public to support the Fund.

“The fund is solely donor-funded and if we can achieve this much with the resources donated by just a few corporate organizations, imagine how much we can do with the support of all companies& residents in Lagos.” .
