Lagos State Unveils Week-Long Children’s Day Celebrations

The Lagos State Government has announced an exciting lineup of events in celebration of the 2025 Children’s Day, joining the global community in honouring and supporting the well-being of its young population.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that running from May 20th to May 27th, the week-long festivities carry the theme, “Children: Our Future and Our Responsibility,” emphasizing the shared obligation to safeguard, educate, and empower the state’s children.

Inaugurating the celebrations on May 20th, a Youth Forum and Career Talk will be held at the Education Resource Centre (ERC) Hall in Ojodu-Berger, while a Debate Competition takes place at the Co-Curricular Services Division Office in Akoka. Both events commence at 10:00 am.
On May 21st, the ERC Hall in Ojodu-Berger will come alive with a vibrant Cultural Display at 10:00 am, showcasing the rich diversity of Lagos State and providing a platform for young talents to express themselves creatively.
In addition to religious observances will play a central role in as Jumat Service will be held on May 23rd at the Alausa Secretariat Mosque, while a Thanksgiving Service will take place on May 25th at the Chapel of Christ the Light, both in Alausa, Ikeja.
The grand finale will commence on May 27th, with a spectacular Parade and Rally at the Police College Ground in Ikeja, beginning at 8:00 am.
