Lagos SUBEB Chairman Hakeem Shittu Loses Father

Eko Hot Blog reports that Hakeem Shittu, the Chairman of the Lagos State Universal Basic Education Board (LASUBEB), has lost his father, Alhaji Rafith Shoye Shittu.

Alhaji Shittu passed away on Wednesday, leaving behind children, including an illustrious son, and grandchildren.

The deceased’s son, who chairs LASUBEB, announced the sad development in a terse statement late Wednesday evening.

Shittu disclosed that his father will be buried on Thursday in Ejinrin Town, Ketu-Ejinrin, Epe, Lagos, by 1pm.

“With total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing away of my father ALHAJI RAFITH SHOYE SHITTU,” the statement reads.

“Burial details are as follows:
Date: Thursday February 1st, 2024.
Venue: Ejinrin Town, Ketu-Ejirin, Epe.
Time: 1:00pm prompt.”

Meanwhile, tributes have started pouring in for the late Shittu as friends of the family condole with them on the loss of their patriarch.

In a statement, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, the Chairman, Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Agbowa, Epe, described the deceased as a respected community leader who lived with integrity and kindness.

He comforted the Shittu family, especially the LASUBEB chairman, while praying for Alhaji Shittu’s soul to rest in peace.

“With profound sadness and total submission to the will of Allah, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, joins the entire Shittu family in mourning the passing of Pa Rafiu Shoye Shittu, the beloved father of Dr. Hakeem Babatunde Shittu, Chairman, LASUBEB,” Anomo stated.

“Pa Shittu, a respected community leader and pillar of strength, lived a life marked by integrity, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. His passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by all of us who knew him.

“This is to express my heartfelt condolences to Dr. Shittu and his family during this difficult time. We take solace in the fact that he was a true role model whose legacy lives on through the values he instilled in his children and the positive impact he had on his community.

“On behalf of the good people of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, I offer my deepest sympathy for this loss and I pray to Almighty Allah to forgive him of his shortcomings and grant him eternal abode amongst the righteous.

“May the soul of Alh. Rafiu Shoye Shittu’s continue to rest in peace.”
