Lagos Teachers Perform Excellently At APWEN’S STEM Competition

Lagos State teachers has peeformed extraordinarily by coming First, Second and Third position in the just concluded Association of Professional Women in Engineering (APWEN) STEM Training and Practical Competition ahead of 36 States of the Federation. Lagos State Teachers just as as a testament to improved efficiency in the education has represented by four other teachers from the State won consolation prizes for doing so excellently well

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mrs. Abosode Adelaja, expressed her heartfelt happiness as she stated that even the Government is excited about the good performance of the Teachers.

In her words: “Education policy makers and administrators would be well served by recognizing the complexity of the teacher literacy and adopting multiple measures along many dimensions to support existing teachers and to attract and hire new, highly qualified teachers because this teachers has done really well and we must make sure that other teacher try on their parts”

“In order to implement needed policies associated with staffing every classroom even the most challenging ones with high quality teachers, substantial and targeted investments must first be made in both teacher quality and education research” she added.

The Permanent Secretary Disclosed that the Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, has invested enormously into several programmes and initiatives to improve the standard of teaching and learning in the State.

Eko Hot Blog has learnt that the winners are: Mr. Lawal Kazeem Akinsola of Lagos State Junior Model College, Kankon, Badagry, Education District V who came First at the completion while Miss Nnaji Chika Adebola of Baptist Junior, Surulere, Education District IV and Miss Alexander Ibukun of Ajara Comprehensive Senior High School, Education District V too the Second and Third positions respectively

The winners were appreciated and rewarded with gifts ranging from Laptops, Tablets and Certificates.

The Permanent Secretary therefore, calls for more collaboration with the association to further build capacity for teachers.
