Lagos Technical Colleges Produce Over 2,000 Skilled Graduates
Ekohotblog reports that over 2,000 young graduates from Lagos State’s Government Technical Colleges have confidently stepped into the workforce armed with transformative skills, marking a milestone in youth empowerment under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration.
The graduation ceremony, celebrated as a landmark achievement, highlighted the power of technical education and the governor’s vision for a prosperous future for Lagos youths.
Hon. Giwa Moore, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Technical and Vocational Education, described the event as a testament to hard work and hope.
“This is not just a graduation; it’s a gateway to a brighter future. Governor Sanwo-Olu’s investment in technical education is giving our youths the power to dream big and achieve even bigger,” he said.
The graduates, trained in various fields including carpentry, fashion, and IT, are now equipped to excel in the evolving job market.
Strategic partnerships with organizations such as the Kensington Adebutu Adebukunola Foundation (KAAF) played a pivotal role in making this vision a reality.
“When public and private sectors come together, great things happen,” Hon. Moore added.
“Through these collaborations, we’re not just teaching skills; we’re building confidence and opening doors to success.”
For many graduates, the ceremony marked the start of a promising new chapter.
One graduate shared their joy: “This program has transformed my life. I now have the skills to start my business and create a better future for myself and my family.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Commissioner for Education, reiterated the administration’s dedication to youth development.
“Our focus on technical education is part of building a Lagos where no one is left behind.
We will continue to invest in programs that create jobs and improve lives,” he said.
The event also featured an exhibition of creative projects by the graduates, showcasing their innovation and determination.
Outstanding students were recognized and rewarded for their exceptional performances.
Reflecting on the significance of the day, Hon. Moore said, “This is what progress looks like—empowered youths, ready to take on the world.
Under Governor Sanwo-Olu’s leadership, we’re building a Lagos where dreams turn into skills, and skills turn into success.”
