EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Nigeria Association of The Blind has once again recognized the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) for excellence in service delivery and inclusive governance.
TESCOM’s Chairman, Mrs. Olabisi Ariyo, expressed her thanks to the organization for the honor when she accepted the award from Lagos State’s Chairman of the Nigeria Association of the Blind, Barrister Lukman Salami, during a courtesy visit to the Commission.
Insisting that TESCOM is closely collaborating with the Association’s representative, Mrs. Grace Egbogi, to make sure the rights of their members are adequately protected in the grand scheme of things, Mrs. Ariyo reaffirmed that the Commission will not give up on its efforts to give all State citizens who qualify the chance to contribute their fair share to the development of society.
In her words: “We will not relent in our efforts to empower people who are constant proof of the fact that there is ability in disability”.
While presenting the award to the Chairman of TESCOM, Barrister Lukman Salami said the gesture demonstrated the group’s appreciation of the opportunity given to its members, who were employed as Secondary School Teachers in the State’s Teaching Service.
Salami recognized Mrs. Ariyo’s contribution to the establishment of inclusive governance in Lagos State going back to her time serving as the ministry of education’s permanent secretary.
