EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) plans to hold the Revised Structured Training Programme (RSTP) for over 5000 Education Officers in the Six Education Districts, LASTVEB, and the Commission in the year 2022.
Mrs. Olabisi Ariyo, Chairman of TESCOM, spoke about the exercise in Ikeja, noting that the RSTP is a requirement for the promotion of eligible officers in the State Teaching Service.
She stated that all eligible Officers for promotion will be trained on Job Specific and Cross-Cutting Knowledge programs in order to prepare them for optimal service delivery in the higher position they aspire to.
Her words: “The Structured Training is practically to equip our officers with relevant knowledge and update them on the programmes and policies of the government, especially as it affects education and technology, for better performance. This is apposite to the actualisation of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S agenda in line with 21st-century global practices”.
She added that Officers will be assessed based on punctuality, participation and contributions during and after the training which will form part of their cumulative results in addition to their Staff Performance and Appraisal Development (SPADEV) reports and oral interviews.
The RSTP is scheduled to hold between Tuesday, 14th June and Friday, 17th June 2022 from 9 am to 4 pm daily. Education Officers on Grade Levels 06 – 10 will be attending a physical RSTP at five Centres on Tuesday, 14th of June, while all Non-Teaching Staff (NTS) across the Six Education Districts, LASTVEB and TESCOM will also be attending a physical RSTP on Wednesday, 15th of June in three different centres across the State.
