The Lagos State Government has finalized proposals to commission its Affordable Public Housing Scheme in Idale, Badagry, as part of efforts towards reducing the Housing depletion across the State.
The Commissioner for Housing, Mr Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, who disclosed this today during a media conversation in Alausa, stated that the housing scheme constructed by the State Government, in affiliation with Echostone Development Nigeria Limited, has 252 units of two-bedroom cabins on an expanse of 12.5 hectares in Idle, Badagry.

According to him “The Estate, which is one of the numerous ambitions of the Ministry of Housing, was survived out of a Joint Venture with Echostone Development Nigeria Limited based on an innovative construction technology that supports housing production within optimal time at lessened cost”.
Eko Hot Blog learned that he disclosed that the land on which the scheme is sited was delivered by the State Government while the Partner built the homes with the supervision of the Ministry of Housing, bolstering that the project is a testament to the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration’s avowed commitment to ‘Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy’ by delivering modern homes for its citizenry.
A kinder-Fatai averred that the scheme is unique because it is the first green Estate to be owned by the State Government, saying that “The Lagos State Affordable Public Housing Scheme in Idale is an eco-friendly housing scheme as each house comes with two trees and a garden. Also, the homes are easy to maintain because the procedure supports energy efficiency in terms of power and water usage”.
“The Estate also comes with state-of-the-art infrastructure such as water treatment plant, central sewage treatment plant, streetlights, spaces for community activities, road network and drainage as well as ledge fence”, he added.
The Commissioner proclaimed that the commissioning of the Idale Housing Project will be executed on Friday, 11th December 2020 by the Governor of Lagos State Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu.
