The Commissioner for Transportation Dr. Fredrick Oladeinde has disclosed that the Lagos State Government is developing initiatives aimed at harnessing the opportunities in the state’s water sector for aquaculture, transportation and tourism.
He said this on Thursday at the 19th NECCIPR Roundtable Edition where he represented Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
He also pointed out that the State government will develop necessary infrastructure and ensure that Lagos environment is condusive enough to attract private investments.
Dr. Oladeinde described the ‘Blue Economy’ as the next level of economic transformation for economies or states that have access to the sea or waterways.
He affirmed that the Maritime industry can serve as an alternative and sustainable source of revenue for an economy or state.
