Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Government has announced the maiden edition of International Fire Safety Conference dated for June 25 to 27, 2024.
The programme tagged “Stakeholders Collaboration: A Panacea to Incessant Fire Disasters in Lagos,” has been announced to take place at Balmoral Convention Centre situated at Victoria Island, Lagos.
Stating the devastating repercussion of fire incidences, Permanent Secretary for Ministry of Special duties and intergovernmental relations, Mr Ogundeko Sesan Tunde, said it is important for everyone to make themselves available for the fire safety programme.

Tunde through an awareness call, accounted that the United State lost 82 lives and property worth billions in 2023 to fire breakout.
Emphasizing on the importance of fire safety, Director for Lagos Fire and Rescue Services, Mrs Adeseye Magaret, said, “Fire safety is a critical issue that affects all of us, and it’s crucial that we come together and discuss.”
She stated that the purpose of the conference remains to chart a course for fire safety management within the state.
Recall that Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon. Gbenga Oyerinde, made the announcement in a statement issued on Monday, April 15.
He said the conference is being organised by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service in collaboration with strategic partners.
